This tour is an upgrade of classic Dubrovnik Jewish Heritage tour . It takes the first tour as foundation and extends it to every single location of importance and interest
in greater area of City of Dubrovnik. Jewish life in Dubrovnik was never limited to domain of the Old City (and to the original Ghetto, for that matter). During this tour we'll
visit locations which are not part of any of various other touristic offers. This trully is an exclusive tour, in a full sense of the word.
It is a walk through space and time, all while being surrounded by sights of one of Europe's most beautiful cities.
Tour details
Together with the Synagogue and Via del Ghetto (todays Jewish Street) , Jewish cemetery is the most important Jewish site in Dubrovnik.
Officialy the Cemetery is close to public (its two gates are locked at all times and only members of the Community have the right to enter).
Touristic visits are strictly forbidden but since our guides are members of the Jewish Community of Dubrovnik we are more than pleased to be able to
guarantee that our guests on this tour will have an exclusive guided visit of the site.
Special part of the tour will be dedicated to stories from Ha'Shoah (Holocaust) and fate of not only Dubrovnik Jews
but of thousands of other Jews that found themselfs in occupied Dubrovnik during the days of the Second World War.
This tour will uncover and reveal every aspect of Jewish life, past and present, in Dubrovnik - stories of Jewish coral hunters, production of Kosher wine, cases from Republic's Court of Law,
anecdotes from everydays life in the Ghetto and trully amazing story of another, ‘secret’ Ghetto within the walls of the Old City – just to name some of the content…
